Space Marine Honour Guard

Hello people. heres my latest finished figure, quite pleased with this one as it was a relatively quick and straightforward affair. There were areas I wanted to take further namely the dark/lights on the swords but wanted to move onto the next figure so left it quite subtle.
This chap is on ebay now:

Fresh Layout!

If you visited my site before you will of notice that I've done away with the black and depressing colour scheme and opted for something brighter. So I created a new web banner to welcome you all to my new site. Yay! your all so excited I can tell.

And just to excite you all a little more it's random photo time.

I know it's not warhammer, but my other passion of F1 got a look in when I got some pretty snaps of some sexy Mclarens at Donington Park.

Space Marine Terminator Lord

Bonjour Amigos! Been Painting again, Just a quick job here. Converted this a while ago from kit bashing plastic kits. Just got round to painting it up. like everything I paint I always start with the best intentions ( IE plan to start a army or larger collection of whatever I'm painting but the sheer agony of painting the same colours more than once kicks in and I submit to the fact I haven't got the patience to paint a army for myself. )
So like the rest this guy going straight to the ebay:

Chaos Space Marine Vindicator

Hello my internet buddies! I think I mentioned in my last post that I was painting a tank, which is pretty rare for me. So I just went with the flow and allowed myself to paint till I got burnt out. Added some freehand to added a little intrest to some of the areas. No idea what colour I went for I was kinda going for a cross between Thousand Sons and Slannesh.
As you can already guess this fella is on ebay :

Space Marine Squad GD Finalist

Well to those of you that might vaguely care I have still kept myself painting ( hold the Phone! I've been painting a Tank) but no photos of that yet! When digging around some old miniatures I realised most of them never had decent photos taken. As I had nothing better to do with my time, I whipped out my shiny new camera and had a session of sorts!

Got some new photos of my Marine Squad on CMON:

Nurgle Daemon Prince

Hi guys, Got another finished model to share with you. I really can't believe it that i managed to finish two models in a week! I really think thats a first for me! it seems that my more liberal and quick approach ( spending less time sweating about minute areas and applying global lighting to larger areas)   seems to be paying off , As again this guy took around 3-4 hours.
It makes my laugh when I rummage through all my unfinished models, just how many I have to get through. Looks like I'll be keeping busy for some time.
Like the previous daemon prince this guy is of no use to me and i just don't have the room so he's up for auction on ebay:

Daemon Prince Of Khorne

Perhaps it's the summer sweat keeping me up at night... but I been finding it hard to keep away from the brushes at night. Found this guy hanging around with just basecoats on. Couldn't resist giving him a little life. For me this was quite a quick job... around 4-5 hours which I was pretty pleased with. As it usually takes me years to complete a figure. As much as I liked to keep the little chap I have no use for him in my armies so am going to sell him on.  He is now up for auction on  ebay:

Thanks !

[Commission] Warhammer Dragon

Why is time so cruel? Anyway this is my most recent commission completed for a previous client. I say recent I completed this about a month ago, But have only now find time to upload photos etc. This was a really enjoyable piece to paint, not only because it was such a nice model ( by the way sculpted by the client) but also it allowed me to rediscover my passion for painting miniatures. After a year of full time work, painting no longer seems a chore as it sometimes used. I began enjoying painting again like I used to when I first got into the hobby.

But Anyway enough of my elighthanment, At the end of the day the client was happy which made me happy and gave me a little extra motivation to get my painting back in the swing.

This was the testimonial for this commission:

"This is the third commission that I have asked Dylan to work on for me after the success of the previous commissions.  I like the way Dylan approaches the new projects he is open to suggestions and has good views of his own. We had several discussions on the new project over colours and how the final piece should appear. Dylan made a quick test to make sure the ideas would work colour wise before starting the project feedback was positive.  Dylan always takes stage photos and keeps in contact thought the commission which is always welcome. I’m very happy that our collaboration once again has been a total success. Dylan interpreted my thoughts perfectly. The finished commission was fantastic the attention to detail makes all the difference.  I’m very happy with my collaboration with Dylan and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Dylan workmanship.  His approach, communication, and finished product is to be admired.
I look forward to working with Dylan again in the future. Thanks again Dylan nice work."
